Are you looking for a sweet, friendly beagle girl who loves to cuddle? Meet me, Thelma! I am happy, well-adjusted and have settled easily into the routine of my foster home. Some of my favorite hobbies include giving kisses, snuggling, getting treats, and chewing my toys. I especially love nylabones! A couple of times I've tried to chew on things I shouldn't, but foster mom tells me "No" and I stop right away. I also take treats very gently. I didn't know any commands when I got to my foster home but I have already learned "sit" and "come." I also know my name and I come when I am called (except for sometimes when I'm outside in the yard and following a good smell....I am a beagle, after all!). Foster mom says I am smart and a fast learner! I really LOVE people and will greet you with lots of kisses and affection! I will let you put me on your lap and snuggle me if you want to. I can be pushy about showing affection to people, although I will stop and find something else to do (a toy to play with) if I am not getting attention. I sleep in my crate all night and when my foster family is at work during the day. I've generally done well in my crate and will sometimes go in there to nap while my foster parents are watching t.v. I have two canine siblings in my foster home. I like the beagle boy, he is nice and doesn't mind when I'm a little pushy. Sometimes we run around the yard and play chase together. The female rat terrier told me my first day here that she is the boss, so I pretty much leave her alone. I think I would enjoy having a 4-legged sibling to hang out with, but I think I'd be just fine as an only dog too. There are no cats in my foster home but apparently the people who found me in Ohio didn't like my reaction to cats, so they are recommending no cats in my forever home. There are no little kids here either, but I am so sweet and loving that foster mom is sure I'd be good with kids. The nice family who picked me up from the transport here and kept me for a couple of hours have a 2-year-old grandchild, and they said I was fine with him. I might be a little too exuberant in showing affection for some toddlers though. Note from Thelma's foster mom: Thelma is a real sweetheart! She has been a joy to foster and really seems to get along with everyone. She has enjoyed the few walks we've been able to take, and loves running around the yard in the snow! But she's generally pretty mellow, and lower to medium energy. After dinner she just wants to curl up on a bed or the couch and nap. This little gem will make a great addition to almost any family!
